BRIAN RUTTLE
Our Assessor Brian covers Doncaster, Kirklees, Hull, Leeds, Sheffield, Wakefield, North Yorkshire and Nottingham. Bri worked as a hoist installation engineer between 1991 and 2000. He has travelled the world, including Australia, most of Europe, Abu Dhabi and China, training on how to assess and install ceiling track hoists. Bri has a NEBOSH qualification and is also a qualified electrician. He has a wealth of knowledge around building methods and installation techniques. Bri has also been involved with the assessment and installation of bathing products for over 30 years.
ROSS MARSDEN
Our Assessor Ross covers Lancashire and the North West. Ross began his career in the healthcare industry with Simply as a service engineer and took the opportunity to develop further as a Product Specialist and Assessor. He has led and overseen many major projects and adaptations with Simply.
JOHN WOOD
Our Assessor John Wood covers North Yorkshire and the North East. John has 15 years experience in the service and installation of Guldmann Hoists and in Moving and Handling. He is experienced in project management and holds a HNC in Engineering.
Simply’s Lead Assessor is a product specialist who has over 33 years’ experience in the moving and handling industry. He has a wealth of knowledge in the installation and use of ceiling track hoists, gantries, mobile hoists and bathing equipment and has trained people, all over the world, in the safe use and installation of these products.
All our Assessors have previously worked as Installation Engineers and have the expertise and knowledge to survey any space. Our skilled Assessors will configure unique hoisting and bathing solutions, specifically designed to meet your exact needs, ensuring we provide you with the safest, and most comfortable, moving and handling experience.
Simply’s Assessors work with a variety of professionals, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Moving & Handling Advisors, Architects and Building Contractors, to ensure we provide you with the most appropriate equipment.

Simply’s installation engineers are highly trained specialists, having completed comprehensive certification programmes for the installation of Guldmann and Ropox products. Our engineers have completed disability awareness, dementia awareness, safeguarding, and equality, diversity and inclusion courses. Our engineers receive regular technical updates and training, ensuring they are always up to date with any advances in the functionality of our products.
Standard hoist installations can be completed within half a day, causing minimal disruption to our clients. Our engineers will demonstrate the safe use of the equipment following an installation and ensure the client and carer are competent in its use, prior to leaving site. Our assessors can re-attend at a later date (free of charge) and provide further training if required.
